Environment Note: Stamps for the BirdsStamps for the Birds All of us receive mail from time to time, mostly with some sort of stamp attached. Rather than getting rid of the stamp, you can cut it out and place it in the large envelope hanging on the side of the laundry token machine in the Lodge area, near the pidges. A friend of the College comes in regularly to collect the stamps and send them off to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, which then sells them to philatelist shops.
It doesn't matter what value of stamp it is or where it's from, and there's no need to separate it from the backing paper - just cut or rip around it. A little bit of effort can save some waste, and maybe even save some birds - Thanks for your support! MCR Environment Officer »
